PREPARE pasta according to package directions, reserving ¼ cup cooking water.
HEAT oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic; cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant. Stir in tomatoes; cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in pesto and reserved cooking water.
TOSS cooked pasta with sauce. Season with salt and ground black pepper. Top with cheese, chives and pine nuts.
